June 13, 2021 Leaving for 2 weeks.

I really don't like to be gone yet I like to travel.  But I will be gone 2 weeks.  Thankfully, Paula, Laura and Wilson will be keeping track of things.

I am thinking of doing what Laura does re: lettuce and greens. She buys the lettuce already up and going at Home Depot in March. Might have to cover things but by June, it is too hot and the cool weather veggies don't do so well.

The tiger lilies, the snap peas are coming. Sigh. But I did get to see a lot of peonies and poppies and our irises are up.

Our grass has been so green but with the heat this week, the brown spots are coming.

There are spots that do not get any water so I am watering right now.

I asked Tom to run the sprinkler twice a day these two weeks. I think he will do it.

I pulled out a lot of squash and cucumbers as there were too many.  I gave the vegetables fish fertilizer today and tomato fertilizer to the pots and Miracle Gro to the flowers.

The grass!

On my bike ride up on Dartmouth

Just love the white and succulents for a few weeks and this year the rabbit did not get to the flowers.

This was a few weeks ago Growing fast

This is today

Will miss the tiger lilies

Keeping the stupid squirrels out of the dahlias.

I had to put some rocks in spots where the idiots squirrels are digging. There have been so many posts on FB Neighbor begging people to stop feeding the squirrels.  Paula ignores and won't stop.

And the roses are also going to bloom while I am gone. Oh well.

The stubborn finch and the Boston Fern June 5, 2021

It has gotten hot.  Tomatoes are growing.  I bought a couple butternut squash plants and a cala lily. I can't decide what to do with the lily.

So this finch has tried to build yet another nest in the Boston Fern.  The finch was relentless. In one day, I found another beginnings of the nest.  Feel a little bad but I really did not want a nest in that plant!

Put the top of a mason jar in the spot so no more next.

Did the bone meal thing yesterday June 4.

June 2 2021 planted cucumber plants from the store

Well, I bought a pot of cucumber sprouts, probably 12 of them in a small pot for $4.  I gently separated them and planted them.  On June 4, most seem to be rooting.  The sugar snap peas are going up their fence. Tom put a lattice up for the cucumber wall.  We'll see how that works.

It has been just gorgeous out here in my yard this year. It's from all the rain.
