Dahlia, new bulbs, are sprouting and I will miss the lilies

I planted marigold seeds in the garden by the Baileys, a few near the house and along the perimeter of the veggie garden.

seeds went in May 8

The wind has been so strong.  The garden just looks like dirt so no pictures

Joan and Debbie will help with watering. Tom is working on sprinklers.

I made up some pots for flowers, tomatoes and basil.

I bought more potting soil to fill up the back boxes.

May 7, 2022. I have begun.

I am so thankful that the lilacs are blooming this week before we leave on the 16th for 17 days

I soaked these old Dahlia bulbs.  I'll see if they bloom

Tomorrow I will do the seed planting

These are ranunculus bulbs.   Last year, the bulbs did not do anything but this year I soaked them, as per the instructions on the box.  Did not have those instructions last year.

This are the bulbs from the beautiful potted tulips, daffodils and hyacinths I enjoyed this year.  I learned about saving the bulbs from this youtube.  They need to dry for a week but here in Denver with the heat, sun and wind. I think they will be dry in a few days.

Left to right,  ranunculus, new dahlias and old dahlia bulbs

Tom spent an hour covering the water system in the vegetable garden and turning over the soil. It is just too hot and windy to plant today

I dumped some old potting soil in the garden near the house and the pine tree garden.  Took out more pine needles.

Good thing I had seeds already. There were hardly any seeds at Walmart.
