Bulbs in Pots today Nov 12 2022

So the purple pot has the old bulbs and they are in the "lasagne'  planting

This is Parker guy.  And this is the Dutch method

The blue has the new bulbs from Walmart.  And i used the method in this youtube.  just one level, all four types on that level.

October 30th thrown out a few things but still have a geranium and dahlias

I have some tomatoes in the bag but pretty much done with those.

I have some dirt for my bulb project. I cleared out so many pine needles as well as the garden behind the grill.  There is a lot more work to be done there but the ground is so hard. I need Tom to dig it all up and actually through it out but he probably won't throw out the dirt, knowing him and the saving thing

I have to get another plant next year. They were randomly on sale at Ace Hardware and I got them.  Weird. They are also great in sauce.

September 24, 2022. another dahlia, another rose

I was unable to find any dahlias at Home Depot. I used my gift card and got fish fertilizer and some spring bulbs.  I asked the HD guy for bulbs and he sent me to "light bulbs."

maybe the last?

lots of tiny cukes, how many cosmos seeds in there😠 The big cukes aren't very good but there are a few good ones in there

Not looking too good but might be good for getting seeds. Wanted a prettier deck for Sunday guests who are now not coming because of COVID

September 20, 2022 Home from Aussie land

Many thanks to Joan for keeping these flowers alive.  Most excited about the lily from P. Allen and new dahlias.  I learned from Rob P. how to save my dahlia bulb.  Let it die and cut it back.  get a plastic bag and tie it around the pot.  Sprinkle water occasionally as it is stored in garage.

Tom has taken out all the Cosmos

My experiment:  these were all green and hard on Sept 3.   Put them in a brown bag with an apple and half a banana.  They all turned red. I made marinara today.

September 3, 2022 the end of the summer, pretty much

Well, Joan took the geranium, petunia, the dahlia, the fern, a bunch of cucumbers and a zucchini.  I also gave some to Wilson. She has lots of beautiful tomatoes herself.  Just thrilled about that dahlia

I wasn't sure it would open.
I put a lot of the pineapple tomatoes in a bag with a half banana.  I figured if they do ripen, I'll make sauce.  Wilson can have the cherry tomatoes.
I did buy the new tomato pots and I still have $70 to use at Home Depot.
The coleus is really nice but will be gone soon.
roasted carrots, banana peppers, tomatoes, zucchini and summer squash all from the garden, and we put on pizza
I put the petunias in the front and gave them epsom salt fertilizer.  Wilson will water. We'll see what happens I took my last two little roses to her.

There will be at least one more zucchini

I wonder how many zucchini and more and more cucumbers Aug 3, 2022

So 4 cucumbers today and I picked the big zucchini.

I have to copy and paste pictures for some reason?

5 cucumbers today!  And I made pickles yesterday.  I am hoping that what MIGHT be a female zucchini in on the one of two plants producing.  I also picked the one summer squash. Put it in my eggs.
So I made a new zucchini bread. Had brown sugar, yogurt, olive oil, cinnamon, chocolate chips and walnuts.  Now I have 6 breads in the freezer but i figure I need them with the Bible study group here,  family coming, then breakfast for 92: 14ers,  Tami Brown, Susan Chapman and one for Heather.

Also made zucchini relish from the big one.  Not sure if I will make another stuffed, well, maybe next week.
The lily from P. Allen came up but I think next year it will bloom.

August 20 2022. getting to the end of summer and the big next-year tomato pots are here!

We had a terrible rain, well, good for the moisture but flooded the basement a bit.  So I went out and got all the carrots.

Getting lots of tomatoes.  One plant did not survive the storm

Lots of cucumbers this year

A falcon got a snake in the Bailey's yard. Weird

Debbie's hydrangeas have been a big joy
carrot soup

I will be doing coleuses again next year

Well, I did not curse this non-flowering dahlia and looks like I might get a flower before we leave. Maybe two!

August 1 2022, trying to get tomatoes to turn red

I watched a youtube video and the guy said to give the plants a hair cut.

I have 4 cucumbers. I am going to make pickles as soon as the mob leaves.

July 28, 2022 Hamilton visit and wasps

So this was today.  The lettuce, still a little bit. There was a stupid squirrel in the garden today

No flowers on the Dahlias and the tomatoes not turning red
Cucumbers going up the wall

The transplanted Cosmos are blooming all over the yard
I am putting these in the blue pots again next year

I love how the gladiolas spread and i hope they bloom

Impatiiens still alive

There were two wasps nests, one in the garden by the porch and one on the ceiling by the deck.

There are 4 zucchini growing.  Really, only one plant is producing a lot. One summer squash.   Weston picked two more cucumbers and there are many going up the wall.

Last night a big storm blew over a tomato plant. I simply must get the bigger pots this year. I will have 100 dollars at Home Depot and have to use by Dec 31

Big bummer about zucchini July 20, 2022

 So far, 4 zucchini.

Have been stung by bees. I delayed getting some benedryl so I have swelling on my leg.  Rushed out to get some benedryl cream.  The hydrocortesone  cream expired about 10 years ago.  Typical. I threw out Claritin was 16 years expired.

The bulb from P. Allen Smith has come up.

Homeowners insurance has gone up over $1000 from last year.  Our house is valued at almost $800,000.

Very hot, lettuce done. Cosmos have taken over July 19, 2022

We returned July 15. Debbie had watered but I think the sprinklers were not watering in the morning.  Hence, flowers burned up.  I don't think she watered by the pine tree.

I will be home the rest of the summer so until Sept 3rd, I can do watering twice a day

This picture does not show the cosmos

Last of the lettuce but I still have some that looks good this week

First two but only 2 others in there. I made the zuke boat today

This is the plant that is thriving. Only one
