2020 April 24 Since I can't go anywhere.....

I think this is kind of fun, actually. I have planted two tomato plants in pots (new potting soil and the plants are specifically for pots). I can bring them in at night. Move them around for more sunshine.  I've never done this but here I am, making the most of the now "safe at home."

Hopefully there will be more color soon

Excited to have a few tulips

Planted a lot of zinnia and marigold seeds here

Trying a poppy in a new location. It's a perennial so hopeful

A few years ago I had a really pretty "green " pot.  Need to find a picture of it to try again. This doesn't look very good

So there are two dahlia bulbs in the pot plus zinnia seeds.  And I bought the daffodi to enjoy and then plant the bulbs in the fall
Here they are, two cherry tomato plants with basil and parsley

Picked up two of these and some lady bought all the rest. Oh well. It's early.

2020 April 21 Lettuce and Arugula sprouting

yes, some little green things are coming up in the garden.

I am hand watering each evening.

Tom built a cucumber wall, a new experiment.

I put up the hummingbird feeder. Never done it this early but have not been home at this time in YEARS.

2020 A"pril 15 Tax day but not and 8 inches for "White Easter"

Yes, due to the COVID-19 virus, taxes are not due today.  I even saw that my Global Entry is extended.  Found out that Michigan's governor is not allowing anyone to buy seeds or do gardening. Idiotic. I think the gardening will get me through Alma's situation and this ridiculous lockdown that I do wonder if it is doing anything.

The tulips survived the 18 degrees. Yay!

2020 April 10 Planting today

Well, I started.

Yes, I should be in Nepal right now but COVID-19 arrived and we're all home.

So I soaked the sugar snap pea seeds in water overnight (as Laura F told me) and I soaked the snow peas for about 5 hours.

I put in arugula, lettuce, Kale and some carrots.  The fence is done and going up.

I cleaned out the little gardening closet and did more digging in the pots near the pine tree. The Pine tree is truly a pain but I have been able to make things grow there and it's a lovely view from my "summer office."

Found a few peanuts but not many. I hate squirrels.

It is 70 and beautiful today. Perfect for gardening
