June 28, 2022 the lettuce keeps coming but I am worried about the snap peas

This morning the snap peas looked terrible.  Just droopy.  It is getting to hot for them.

But the lilies and  roses are doing well.

I've maybe overdone the pruning of one petunia plant.  We'll see if it livens up in the next week.

Cucumber trellis is up

June 22, 2022. Transplanting cosmos

The veggie garden has so many cosmos.  So I took some to the garden by the deck and also the pine tree garden.

I also planted some more petunias in the blue boxes as well as marigolds from Walmart in the veggie garden.

I need to do a lot of clean up in pine tree garden, as always.

Disappointed that the sunflower seeds are not coming up.  But there is a loan snap dragon back there.

Poppy did not appear yet again.

I've been pruning the petunias a lot, the new way, not just taking the flower but part of the stem.

It's not raining much at all but we've had a few cool days.

So we have this crazy house finch couple determined to nest in the dried roses. I've moved the nest twice but they have doggedly started again.

Just now, this morning, I looked up and sure enough, a bird was in the next but the bird took off.

Oh, she is back, gave up trying to avoid me.

June 18 2022 P. Allen Smith visit and planting some of his oriental lilies

 https://photos.app.goo.gl/TfM6DDXqRSQXdqvp9

Had a great time at P. Allen Smith's Garden and Home in Arkansas.  See the link above

I just planted 3 Oriental lilies that were a gift from the place

June is the best month for this garden.  Trying to water a lot

I am going to cut some greens for tonight and tomorrow

Fund to get some Asiastic lilies- they don't smell
This rose garden does not give up!  I cut back severely in early May and getting lots of blooms

Tomatoes, one pepper and basil really growing
I planted the 3 lilies, two in the pine tree garden and one along the fence.  The bulbs were already sprouting so we'll see what happens,

June 13, 2022

Paula's poppies

I hope the dahlias and runnuculus are growing

Looking nice now. I saw you tube about how to not let the petunias get spindly.  I will trim when I get back from Arkansas

I trimmed it last week, one week and it grew again

The heat has rolled in. Good fro the tomatoes below but the grass will not be a green and all the flowers in this garden will look weak.  June is the best month for this garden

June 4, 2022 Garden all planted

I just love when these flowers show up in spring time

Garbena daisy, the dalhia bulbs, runniculus (Persian buttercup, I hope), purple and white petunia and then some more petunias

I planted some sunflowers seeds right there.  We'll see what happens.
Put some impatiens in here
More pictures of the pine tree garden

I did plant 2 more perennials.

The fallen-over leaves are daffodils that I never see.  I just get the leaves

Big news was that I put coleus in the round pot and some other greenery. The two side pots have burgundy petunias and more coleus that sort of matched the petunias.

I love seeing the green grass in the spring. It really green-ed up while we were gone
pineapple tomato was on sale;  then two cherry types, sweet banana pepper and basil

June 3, 2022 back from a trip pictures of the garden

Snap peas doing well and lettuces.  Cucumbers again, not coming up but maybe a few of the seeds.

I have a real mystery related to the runniculus bulbs and some of the dahlias.  Well, one thing the hated squirrels are still digging.  I get discouraged about this for sure because Paula has been so adamant to feed them.  But I don't know if the bulbs are sprouting or not. Googled it.

There was a snowstorm while we were gone and the most tree damage we have ever had. Tom has been clearing it up after the angels, Scott, Sarah, John, Wilson and John came over and worked hard. The Baileys did nothing to help.  Another neighbor, Anne, who grew up in our house and lives across from the Rowes came and helped as well, just showed up Thursday afternoon and said, "I am here to help."
