This morning the snap peas looked terrible. Just droopy. It is getting to hot for them.
But the lilies and roses are doing well.
I've maybe overdone the pruning of one petunia plant. We'll see if it livens up in the next week.
Cucumber trellis is up

The veggie garden has so many cosmos. So I took some to the garden by the deck and also the pine tree garden.
I also planted some more petunias in the blue boxes as well as marigolds from Walmart in the veggie garden.
I need to do a lot of clean up in pine tree garden, as always.
Disappointed that the sunflower seeds are not coming up. But there is a loan snap dragon back there.
Poppy did not appear yet again.
I've been pruning the petunias a lot, the new way, not just taking the flower but part of the stem.
It's not raining much at all but we've had a few cool days.
So we have this crazy house finch couple determined to nest in the dried roses. I've moved the nest twice but they have doggedly started again.
Just now, this morning, I looked up and sure enough, a bird was in the next but the bird took off.
Oh, she is back, gave up trying to avoid me.

Had a great time at P. Allen Smith's Garden and Home in Arkansas. See the link above
I just planted 3 Oriental lilies that were a gift from the place
Snap peas doing well and lettuces. Cucumbers again, not coming up but maybe a few of the seeds.
I have a real mystery related to the runniculus bulbs and some of the dahlias. Well, one thing the hated squirrels are still digging. I get discouraged about this for sure because Paula has been so adamant to feed them. But I don't know if the bulbs are sprouting or not. Googled it.
There was a snowstorm while we were gone and the most tree damage we have ever had. Tom has been clearing it up after the angels, Scott, Sarah, John, Wilson and John came over and worked hard. The Baileys did nothing to help. Another neighbor, Anne, who grew up in our house and lives across from the Rowes came and helped as well, just showed up Thursday afternoon and said, "I am here to help."
