Tomato blight due to WHATEVER- June 3

totally bummed as my tomatoes have blight. Yes, just like in INTERSTELLAR. Scream.

One person said it was bugs.
not bugs.

Then the gardeners at Big Tool box said two things:
1. did you use old potting soil?  I used both old and new. WRONG.  Tomatoes are so sensitive. Blight lives over the winter.
2. "It's been rainy. that is causing it."

so not knowing what to do, I youtubed "blight on tomatoes." What was funny was that I was using the word "blight" before the gardeners used it? must have been the movie.

anyway. I now have a gardening playlist on Youtube.

The guy is kind of hilarious.

There is also some info on "powdery mildew."  I have also had that especially with zucchini and other squash

June 1, 2015

Lots to report.  First good news:
I think this is a perennial Lupine that has returned for a second year

That is a gladiola bulb coming up
That is a Foxglove. Hope it survives the summer
Okay news

Snap peas, spinach and zucchini coming up.  I replanted more green beans, carrots and lettuce. It's been very slow growing this year.

Now for the bad news
The delphinium does not seem to be making it

So I took this to Big Tool box. All I can figure is that I did not use new potting soil.  Apparently it is imperative that one use NEW potting soil as the old soil will have disease.  Being too frugal, I used some new soil and some old. ugh. so mad at myself.  I am just leaving the pots and hoping for the best.

I love this perennial "Ice plant." The little purple flowers are so pretty and close up every night!
