June 21 2024. Well, if it's not rabbits or squirrels, it's a dog

We had a little hail and I put raincoats on the tomatoes

My mother's memorial garden

Well, I put this up to keep the dog out but she now jumps the fence. Scared Summer and ran through the gardens
I planted a few more perennials that I got from a place I did not know existed, Plum Creek Market. They set up in April near Trader's Joes.  Nice people. I got a lobedia, Shasta daisy, garardia looks like a daisy and the other was ambrosia or something.  it was buy 3 get one free.

The sprinklers are not getting the cucumbers so I am watering them each day. the peas and lettuce are doing great.  Carrots are not so good so far.  The big disappointment I the dahlia tubers.  4 of the 7 have sprouted and no sign of the others.  But I've bought at Walmart some small bush dahlias and I like those. The $2 purple calla lilly is not doing well in the heat.  I still have the hydrandrea covered. the tomatoes are doing really well. I've made a lot of basil. Summer and Ellen really like it!

June 13, 2024 Back from a short trip and it is very hot

My hydrangea shows new growth. I keep it under a sun shade and that seems to be what it needs.

Impatiens doing well

I have planted a yellow squash, half price sale and also a watermelon and butternut squash.  Things are coming up

My big concern now is the dahlias  I see 5 little sprouts but one in a pot shows nothing.  I am putting a petunia and marigold in there as it looks bad but I can remove them

I gave fertilizer to all the flowers and more bone meal to the tomatoes.
I was at Walmart and there were calla lilies for $2.  Might not work but thought I'd try.  I ordered a sign as I got  the idea of calling this new perennial garden, Mama's Garden since I have used the money she gave me to buy the flowers.
The tomatoes have gotten so big

I cut this back 10 days ago and here it is.  Need to find more things to do with basil
