If I'd only thought of covering the tomatoes for overnight. We were in C. Springs.
As you can imagine, I was so sad.
So on Saturday morning, I got up at 6 am to bike ride but it was 52 degrees. I looked on line and saw Home Depot was open at 6. I got there in 10 minutes and was out of there in 10 minutes. I just got a couple more basil and tomato plants.
A hailed on tomato and a green pepper I bought by mistake
So I am hoping this one will recover. That is a new basil plant
new tomatoe and basil
New cherry tomato and recovering basil
Hot chocolate pepper that I was so looking forward to. Now in the veggie garden with one leaf
This one is just a stem. Laura Flanders said it is probably not recoverable
The lettuce was on the deck so it did not get a lot of damage
The petunias here and there were two other new plants got decimated.
This one was under the deck so just a bit of damage. All the honeysuckle and lilac flowers were all blown off
Tom put up the cucumber wall and the snap pea wall. I found extra cucumbers and planted them near the wall. The little sprouts also got damaged as did the lettuce and I am hoping for recovery
So the pine tree garden looks okay. The tree that is my nemesis actually protected all the coleus and even some of the petunias.
Transplanted a vine here
My effort at creativity. I saw this pot on it's side and thought, Wouldn't that be a nice garden ornament. I am not sure the orange whatever they are will make it but maybe the
something happened to the lily. Maybe the wild wind on Saturday but there seems to be a dahlia in there
I bought some annuals, impatiens and dianthus and the impatiens survived most of the hail due again to that apple tree that I don't like in that garden
Dahlias are coming up but I put in pansies on the side because they were only $99 cents at King Sooper. I had gone this morning to get a tomato plant to thank Wilson. And then a couple of those vines.
So there is hope. This is a spiritual lesson. No matter how hurt, devastated, beat up, wounded, damage, God can bring life again.
