June 23, 2017.....the flourishing garden!

What fun it was to receive these pictures of the garden while I was in Asia....many thanks to Laura Flanders and Joan Polete, faithful friends and gardeners.

While I was gone, Paula's poppies and peonies arrived and she very kindly sent me pictures!
I never did take photos of the tomato and basil plants. One plant is not doing well, not sure why.

So, what have I been doing? Well, I obsessively move plants almost every day. I have decided that bunnies don't like the smell of salvia or marigolds as they have stayed out of the garden.
I've been giving lettuce and spinach to everyone and having a salad every day.

The sugar snap peas have bloomed and I hope to be picking those while the Hamilton grandkids are with us June 24-July 1. As I write this though, we are having a true cold snap. It's 45 degrees. Ugh. The rain is nice for the garden.

I thinned the carrot and beets before I left. They look good. I had planted seeds for squash, edamame, beans and cucumbers before I left. Joan had come over and thought, "Half the garden is empty." But then
