Well, today was one of those back achy days. I had not done anything since left for Chattanooga. But as planned, it snowed on the seeds, rained and they are sprouting nicely.
Wilson has mentioned to me that she is not seeing very many rabbits. Yahoo! I just put the decorative rabbits in the garden tonight.
While Ken and Tom were hurriedly tearing out the tile in our bathroom (my big surprise- not just the "kids" bathroom but the master is getting done thanks to Construction Angel Ken Hendren), I went to the garden and pulled the weeds then I went to the blue boxes and tugged and pulled at the rats nest potting soil in those boxes. It's so old I got out most of the root mess and hopefully the petunias will do better this year.
Then I went to Walmart. I spent about $100 and got many perennials, some potting soil, a hanging pot, geraniums.
Came home and got to work.
In the dirt, there are dahlia bulbs. I thought there were reniculus also but I think they got lost. I planted 3 tublars in the garden behind the grill. I marked those with little wooden sticks.
I also planted some gladiola bulbs and Black Eyed Susan bulbs along the fence. I put in a number of perennials in the pine tree garden and experimented putting a Poppy in a hole that I filled with some good dirt. I also planted a columbine in the NE garden. There is a Poppy coming up but no blossoms, just leaves. It is a shame that I don't get more money plants like Paula. Ever since Scott put in that fence, that year was the best for those little purple flowers, then the fence, then all gone.
